About
George Fell

George Fell grew up in the Peak District and now lives in Manchester. He works with his hands making art and making music.

There is a constant interplay between his artistic practices. His work in each discipline informs the other. He enjoys the physicality of both. His sculpture and music are created with the same focus on mastery of technique, characterised by intricate detail and informed by life in the 21st century.

When he left school, George started working with his father, artist Brian Fell, learning specialist metalwork skills and developing his own artistic style, bringing his ideas to life by cutting, hammering, welding and grinding steel.

As an Artist Metalworker he has worked on large scale public sculptures on permanent display around the country, in collaboration with his father, Brian Fell. You can see more examples of their work together at https://brianfell.org.uk

Now based in a metalwork studio at the internationally renowned Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Brian and George regularly work with the exhibiting artists, while also producing their own work both individually and in partnership in response to public and private commissions.
